Third Way seeks a Senior Multimedia Designer for a fast-paced communications team. The successful candidate will be a compelling storyteller who has passion for using visual and audio design to make social and policy change for equal opportunity, individual liberty, stewardship of our resources, and lasting security.

This position reports to the Deputy Director of Communications and is an integral part of a collaborative and creative digital team. The Senior Multimedia Designer will ensure Third Way is on the cutting edge of visual and digital design, delivering high-impact digital content that can help our ideas reach new audiences. Partner with leadership, policy teams, event coordinators, and communications staff to understand their needs, develop direction, and to produce sticky, clear, and compelling designs to communicate a concept or deliver a message. This is a managerial role.

Requirements

Responsibilities of the Senior Multimedia Designer could include:


  • Creates graphics and artwork

o   Designs artwork, graphics, charts, infographics, presentations, invitations, event collateral, and digital content for social media to support policy products and campaigns. Provide art direction when needed for projects with outside consultants.

o   Prepares reports and products for publication on the website and creates designed reports for select publications.

o   Partners with TW staff to visualize strategic concepts and turns ideas around quickly.

o   Maintains consistent branding across all platforms.

o   Has knowledge of design, layout, color, typography.

o   Has expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, including After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Premiere. Knowledge of Tableau a plus.

o   Knowledge of HTML and CSS required. Manages the organization’s website and troubleshoots with outside vendors when needed. Leads any development of additional features.


  • Develops videos and animations

o   Works closely with the policy staff to identify what products could be developed as, or enhanced by, digital content, and produce that content.

o   Storyboards and creates animations and videos with input from policy and communications staff.

o   Creates, shoots, and assembles recorded raw material into a finished product, including camera footage, sound and audio, graphics, and post-production.


  • Maintains exceptional customer service

o   Manages multiple products and has excellent time management skills.

o   Works effectively in a team environment.

o   Has excellent communication and relationship skills. Comfortable working with everyone in the organization from the President to interns.

o   Able to receive and deliver feedback.


  • Supervises the Graphic Designer

o   Leads the in-house design team, mentors and guides the graphic designer.

o   Assigns work, oversees and guides design decisions, manages project completion and asset deliverables.
