Job description
Third Way is a national think tank and advocacy organization that champions moderate policy and political ideas. Since our founding in 2005, we have served as a critical bulwark against political extremism by advancing values-driven, reform-oriented solutions on the defining issues of our time. Our work is grounded in the mainstream American values of opportunity, freedom, security, and democratic capitalism, and we advocate for the vital center across seven major areas: climate and energy, economy, education, health care, national security, politics, and social policy.
We are seeking a Health Policy Intern who is eager to learn about health care policy, help advance solutions to lower costs and expand access and contribute to Third Way’s mission of defending and building on the Affordable Care Act. If you enjoy research, writing, and engaging with policy issues that affect all Americans, this is the internship for you.
The Health Policy Intern will:
Conduct research and compile analysis on health care trends, policy proposals, and federal legislation;
Support the health policy team in drafting memos, blog posts, fact sheets, and other written content that translates complex health care issues into clear, compelling language;
Track congressional hearings and news developments related to health policy;
Assist in the preparation of policy briefings and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, including Hill staff, industry leaders, and advocacy organizations;
Collaborate with other teams—such as communications, development, and events—to promote health policy initiatives and digital content;
Update press lists and partnership contacts.
Internship Short-Term Projects:
Compiling press contacts from regional and national outlets.
Internship Long-Term Projects:
To be determined based on team needs.
*Please note all duties and events will require in-office participation. All Third Way staff are required to be vaccinated. This is a part-time, PAID INTERNSHIP. *
